Summary:

Insights:

  • 1:28 – if we never spend time “warning” we will not produce full maturity
  • 3:5 – put to death “passions” (it is implied they are sinful passions, but does show that “pursuing passions” is not godly advice)
  • 2:1-5 – unity is continual theme in Paul’s letters
  • 4 – prayer is a continual theme
  • 4:12-13 – our prayers are an important aspect of our laboring to present people mature in Christ
  • 4:3-4 – we are to pray for open doors in ministry

For Brian to obey:

  • Continue devotion to prayer…especially in evangelism (4:3-4) and discipleship efforts (4:12-13)
  • 4:5-6 – speak graciously to all, and discern how to best speak/reach people for Christ around me
